a new summery purchase :)

Testing out the maxi...

hey girls :)! sorry for the lack of makeup and untidy hair but i just really wanted to show you all, this lovely new maxi dress i recently bought :)

it cost £26.99 and is from republic, a shop i wouldn't normally go into but when i saw this dress in the window, i knew i had to have it!

i will most probably only wear it when i'm on holiday or going to the beach but at that price, i don't feel as if i have to wear it everyday!

anyways hope you liked this short (and rather uninteresting post!)... and apologies for the awful photo again!

Take care,
Char ♥

hairband obsession?

well i don't know about you girls but i know i'm absolutely loving all the hairbands that are out at the moment...

this particular one is from asos and was around £6. i just love how they can change the entire look of an outfit and provide some much needed volume to my hair!

so my question to you is, which shop has the best selection of hairbands? i'm definitely going to have to stock up for summer!

londres,ldn,london!

On Wednesday, i took my dad to london for his birthday. We got the train at 9.30 and got into liverpool street at around 10.30, just when the heavens opened and it started to chuck it down! I'm not gonna lie, the first thought that came to mind was why did i even bother doing my hair haha...here is a before shot;

on the millenium bridge- i always think its going to collapse haha!

a small mac haul; boy bait cremesheen glass (for my sister), mineralize blush in rhapsody in two, blacktrack fluidline and 266 angled brush :)

a closer glance... i will use this blush as a highlight, not enough colour for me to wear it alone on my cheeks! i really like these cremesheen glasses, going to pick myself up fashion scoop soon :)

In the evening, we went and saw Legally Blonde the Musical at the Savoy Theatre and it was amazing, we set two rows from the front! Sheriden Smith was an absolute star and if you can get to london, i would definitely recommend seeing it before the cast changes...even my dad loved it!

random cheesy photo of me in our new car, (me and my twin are sharing) :) it's called "biscuit" because the car is a vw fox, so it's like fox's biscuits geddit?! rather sad i know...

anyways girlies, sorry for this random post but i hope you enjoyed it! :)
Take care,
Char ♥

hair of the day :)

Hair of the day!
Today, i woke up ridiculously late...i literally had 20 minutes to get out of the door! As i didn't have time to wash and blowdry my hair, i had to leave it in it's natural state but also try and make it look slightly presentable!
I literally ran GHD's through the front of my hair and pinned it over my ears. I then took the top section of my hair and created a side messy bun and just pinned my hair in place. Lastly, i hairsprayed the rest of my hair that was down and voila...i'm ready to leave!
Now this may not be the neatest hairstyle but i sometimes think messy hairstyles look better + i still had time to take this rather strained looking photo of myself haha!
(If you were wondering, i'm wearing my new love - mac's cremecup lipstick)

Char ♥

i love her style!

People's style i admire...

Blake Lively

Mischa Barton

Sienna Miller

Jessica Szohr

Whitney Port

Olivia Palermo

Pixie Lott

Mary kate Olsen

I think all these women are absolutely gorgeous & I would do anything for their wardrobes! My favourite looks are bohemian but i also love skinny jeans and blazers. I don't like to copy other people's style but i like to try and take their look and adapt it to make it look abit individual, i.e- wearing a blazer but with a scarf or a brooch etc :) Mix it up abit!

Char ♥

hair of the day :)

It's Easter Sunday and i have a LOAD of coursework that needs doing. So... i decided to mess about with hairstyles and try and make my hair atleast presentable for our annual easter roast, yum!

I usually curl my hair with curling tongs and away from my face but today, i fancied a change so i curles them with my ghd's and this time towards my face...live life on the wild side i say! I actually do like the effects the straighteners gave to my curls, they look more natural and beachy! I'm not to sure if i liked curling my hair towards my face though, so i pinned the top section of my hair and ran my fingers through the curls to make them even looser...tight ringlets really don't suit me!

The only products i used were:

James Brown Firm Hold Hairspray

V05 Heat Protectant

Mark Hill Shine and Control Spray

Catwalk TIGI Camera Ready Shiner & Defrizzer

Anyways, must keep this short and sweet as i now have to walk the doggy!

Take care,

Char ♥

product rave!

Collection 2000, Mosaic Glow;

Retails for £2.99 in Superdrug (BARGAIN ALERT!)

This bronzer is friggin amazing! I'm not going to lie, it was the price that first caught my eye, as i wanted to try out a cheaper bronzer to see whether i liked it before investing in the higher end products. If you prefer matte bronzer then i would stay well clear off this, as it does have a shimmer to it. This is the effects, when applied liberally;

(For daily use i would use this more sparingly but for the purposes of the photograph i applied quite alot!)

I think this bronzer is best used in the summer, as it creates a fresh sunkissed look. This product photographs really well and looks suprisingly natural- it just makes your skin look healthy and dewy without depositing any orange colouring! I hate to say it but i probably use this bronzer more than i use my Benefit Hoola bronzer. I either put it on the apples of my cheeks and blend upwards or i use it to contour. If you do use this product to contour, I would suggest using a matte blusher as your cheeks may look overwhelmingly shimmery!

The only negative about this product is that you have to be very careful when using it, as even a slight knock will shatter the entire bronzer...and create an awful mess!

So if you can get your hands on this bronzer, I would definitely recommend you do so...for the price i don't think it can be beaten :) (i'm looking into picking up the mosaic blusher next!)

I hope you all have a lovely easter!

Take care,

Char ♥

everyday eye makeup

Everyday Winged Eyeliner Look :)

Products Used:

Elf Brow Kit Medium

Mac Orb Eyeshadow

L'oreal Carbon Gloss Liquid Eyeliner

L'oreal Telescopic Mascara

Hints to getting the a perfect wing:

1) Start from the middle of your eye, then fill in the space from the beginning of your eye. This allows you to get closer to the lashes and not have gaps.

2) Never wing your eyeliner when looking down, always look the opposite side, i.e- look to the right if you are trying to wing out the left eye. This allows you to see what it will look whereas if you look downwards it can sometimes look abit wonky.

3) For an everyday look, i try not to make the wing too big as it can sometimes look over the top. However, if you are wearing this at night you can go totally Gaga crazy and wing the eyeliner as high as you want! :)

4) Winged eyeliner makes your eyes appear bigger. If you already have big eyes I would recommend to just make the line gradually thicker towards the end of your eye. This way it still makes them appear rounder and made up without looking too big.

I know you all probably know how to do winged eyeliner but i find it really interesting to see other people's methods so i hope this helped :)

Char ♥

favourite nail colour of the month

Revlon Tropical Temptation

I love this nail polish! Easy to apply (I am only wearing one coat in this photograph!) A higher end drugstore polish, price around £6, but i would definitely say the quality can be compared with the likes of opi...so you are still getting value for money! Also, keep a look out for special offers because boots usually sells them for around £4 :) This colour is PERFECT for spring, it stops a monochrome outfit from looking dull and boring! Definately recommend Revlon polishes, my next purchase will be the plum one me thinks :)

Take care,

Char ♥

celebrity makeup love

Hayden Pannetiere
This is my favourite sort of makeup look; glowing skin, smokey eyes and nude lips. I think the hair adds that extra bit of glamour and brings the whole look together :)

Products i would use to recreate this look:
Face-
Body Shop Moisture Foundation SPF15
Mac Studio Finish Concealer
Mac MSF Natural
Mac Cream blush in Sweet William
Mac Vanilla Pigment (to highlight)
Benefit Hoola to contour (slightly)
Eyes-
Mac Bare Study Paintpot
Mac Knight Divine all over lid
Estee Lauder 12 Candy Cube(or any fushia colour) over the top of Knight Divine
Matte Black in Sleek Storm Palette in crease
Urban Decay Vapour in tearduct
Mac Orb to highlight(or any neutral colour)
L'orel Carbon Gloss Eyeliner
Gosh Eyeliner Black Ink
L'orel Telescopic Mascara
Girls Aloud False Lashes, Kimberley
Lips-
Body Shop Yes,Yes,Yes Lip Butter underneath
Mac Creme d'Nude mixed with Hue
Mac C'Thru Lipgloss (used minimally)
These aren't the exact products used to create Hayden's looks, but i think that these would create a similar effect. If you are looking to recreate this look just take note of the colours she uses on her eyes etc, then adapt it according to which products you own :)
Take care my lovelies,
Char ♥
